Welcome to Jengo News! This is where to find news and updates
regarding this site including Website of the Month as well as my own
personal news and outlook with a filmic slant.
For more film news from professional journals to the latest movie
gossip and reviews, see my NEWS page for
a list of film sites to look at.
Lots of exciting news! My friend Scott McLain is doing very well and has
had some great publicity for his latest projects. Check out his website
for details (below).
My site statistics have gone crazy which has filled my inbox up with
communications. I will try to respond to my mail as quickly as possible.
The film group has also done well with new applicants from all around
the world. More news later
Hello there... lots of news to catch up on. I am searching for an agent /
manager / sponsor /
angel / patron of the arts, to help me achieve my goal as a screenwriter.
Unfortunately, I am also currently recovering from an often debilitating
illness known as M.E./CFS (hense the random quietness on my news
page!).
This may have made achieving my ambitions
more difficult, but it has not been able to stop me, as I am determined to
overcome this challenging period in my life and turn it into a positive.
If you or someone you know can give me some support, please can you
direct them to my Sponsor a Screenwriter page.
Thanks! :)
My site statistics are growing and growing. I have already had 13,497
unique visitors for this year (as of May 04), which is already getting close
to the 14,109 total for the whole of last year. My current monthly average is
around 2300.
A new edition to my site will be my
'couch', which I hope will be up and running in the Autumn.
SITE OF THE MONTH:
ScriptWriter Magazine:
www.scriptwritermagazine.com
A great British scriptwriting magazine. Very highly recommended - I am a
subscriber myself!
I won a competition run by the CTBF and The Screenwriters store,
so now I'm the proud owner of Final Draft V6.
Wow, it's fantastic and has really made my life easier! So thank you to all
those who were involved with the competition! :)
Hello all (and Matt Nutley - my greatest fan!). I am still busy writing and
loving every minute! I have yet again broken my site visitors record - last
Tuesday a whopping 70 of you visited all in one day and I now have a
regular 'visitorage' of 40-50 per day, so thanks for your support and
positive feedback. My official feedback form is now working and is a
good place to let me know what you, my beloved audience, would like to
see more of on my site.
SITE OF THE MONTH:
0PNC Neg Cutting Facilities:
www.negcut.com
My site of the month is PNC, which is a film negative cutting facility here
in the UK. The Jengo recommended company is based in the West of
London in ideal proximity to the Technicolor Labs - in fact it's right next door!
Their site is filled with just about everything you would want to know about
neg-cutting and also features message boards and a forum with access
to PNC's technical00 wiz if you need professional post-production advice.
Definately worth a00 look if0 you are into post-production. Plus they are lovely
group of people headed by Steve Farnham. Highly reccomended
SEPTEMBER
I am busy working on a screenplay at the moment so there may not be to
much in the way of updates to the site. I would appreciate any help in
identifying any broken links or defunct sites as I have so many links now
it's not easy to keep up. If anyone would like to contribute to this site, it
would be very welcome.
SITE OF THE MONTH:
Screen Talk: www.screentalk.org

AUGUST
Hey! It's my birthday! Just thought I'd share that with you. Pinewood is
nice and busy at the moment, which always makes me happy.
Especially as they've been filming a new series of Hornblower there.
Also Tombraider 2 has started filming so the studio is incredibly busy.
SITE OF THE MONTH:
Thorntons: www.thorntons.co.uk
My favourite chocolates. YUM!
JULY
July has been a really crazy month for me as I moved house! So please
forgive my absence - emails and website updates, etc. No matter how
organised you are... well, I had no idea I was such a hoarder. I know I
love to collect things, but it was a shock! So all my exciting plans for my
site have been delayed for a bit.

JUNE
June has been a great month for us Brits and morale is high what with
the Jubilee Celebrations and our fantastic performance in the World Cup.
May not have won it this time but watch out in 2006! I'm moving house in
July, so updates to the site and replies to my email may be slow until
August time when I hope to unveil several new pages to the site including
a F.A.Q. page.
FILM WHISPERS
Good news for Ealing Studios as I've heard they are setting up an
animation facility for a CG animation called Valiant. Ealing is a favourite
of mine since I worked there in 1995 on the Secret Agent. The studios in
general seem to be doing better now since the quiet patch earlier this
year. It's always great to have the Bond movie in Pinewood and soon an
HBO tv project Fire From Heaven, while Shepperton's rumoured to have a
anglo-american production production TNT/Granada starting soon called
Second Native, they were also busy with a feature version of the tv show
Red Dwarf which has been put on hold (see Rob Llewyllens site
www.llew.co.uk for details). As we're
on the subject of sci-fi telly, Doctor Who fans will be pleased to know that
a new Doctor Who movie is planned by BBC Films. Other exciting news:
Will Smith may have been cast with Martin Laurence on a possible sequel
to Bad Boys and rumour0 has it they could be doing some filming in London
-Yippppppppeeeeeeeeeee! (I love Will Smith) also filming in Florida so
may not be studio based here (Please come to Pinewood guys!).There
are also some filmic whispers that Disney are to do a live action version
of Snow White with Gwyneth Paltrow, but this time the dwarves will be
kung fu fighting midgets. As we are on wacky news, Michael Jackson is
to play a warewolf (!) in a \\$30m project he will also produce called
WOLFED. Anthony Hopkins is aparently fi0nalising a deal to play Pope
Pius IX opposite Oscar nominated Spanish star0 Javier B0ardem in
FilmFour's $20m Edgardo Mortara.
SITE OF THE MONTH:
The Prince Charles Cinema:
www.princecharlescinema.co.uk
My favourite cinema in London! Their site details all their facilities and of
course, the films they are showing. The cinema itself is situatuated just
around the corner to Leicester Square. Some tickets are little as £2.50,
showing a wide range of films. The price is so good as the films are a
late release (after they've done the rounds elsewhere).
They also do special events including regular screenings of the Rocky
Horror Picture Show and Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music. Both are
interactive, fancy dress optional. It's a very comfy cinema and especially
so since they renovated the cinema last year. You can even hire it out as
a Preview Theatre.
MAY
May has been a good month for this site. A record 49 separate visitors on
the 24 May! Well I'm excited. My average is currently 25-30 visitors per
day, favorite pages being ORGANISATIONS,
DIRECTORIES,
WRITERS and STUDIOS.
Also I have a new TRAVEL page online listing links to language and translation sites and hope to update it soon to include world time and international dialing codes.
SITE OF THE MONTH:
The Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund: www.ctbf.co.uk
The Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF) is your very own
trade industry Fund which exists to help those in need should they fall on
hard times through no fault of their own. Problems such as illness,
unemployment accident or long term illness affect people in these
creative industries as much as anyone else and the support and financial
assistance given by CTBF is, in the main, free of charge and you do not
have to be a member to be eligible for help, all they require is that you
have worked for 2 years in any capacity, at any level, behind the camera,
in the British film, cinema or commercial industries. The CTBF is a
valuable asset to the British film & televsion industries so please show
your support and visit their website.
Please support the Cinema & Television Benevolent Fund and visit their
new website! www.ctbf.co.uk
